RSVP to our Bargaining Session on April 17!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our town hall earlier this week about our first bargaining session with WCM! In our first session, we discussed each team’s expectations for negotiations, including a set of written ground rules proposed by Weill Cornell and the initial bargaining goals proposed by our team, which were ratified unanimously by a majority of the unit. Both sides expressed the importance of making sessions as productive and efficient as possible by building on existing standards at other unionized institutions. Here are links to highlights of postdoc union contracts at Columbia and Mount Sinai.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for April 17, from 2:30-4:30pm. At this session, we intend to propose non-economic rights and protections that are critical to WCM postdocs. One of the major ways everyone can support our bargaining team in fighting for these rights  is to attend bargaining sessions. The more of us who attend and observe these sessions, the more effectively we can show the Weill Cornell administration that postdocs are engaged and unified behind our campaign for a strong first contract!

Please let us know if you can attend a bargaining session by filling out this form, and an organizer will be in touch with you. You can also follow our progress with bargaining using the new bargaining tracker on our website. After you RSVP, an organizer will reach out before the session to go over basic guidelines for how observers should conduct themselves during the session.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or comments, or if you’d like to get more involved in efforts to win a strong contract!

In solidarity,
