Join us at our bargaining Town Hall next Wednesday (6/26) at 3pm!

During the most recent bargaining session, WCM expressed an interest in reaching a comprehensive agreement by the end of summer. However, it is concerning that WCM continues to delay responding to outstanding articles, has refused to schedule additional sessions in June and July, and has rejected a number of basic protections enjoyed by unionized postdocs at Mount Sinai and Columbia.

We need to increase our efforts to make WCM understand the urgency of these issues. Please join us for a Bargaining Town Hall on Wednesday, June 26 at 3pm in 1300 York, room A-106 to learn how you can help. In the Town Hall, our Bargaining Committee will outline our progress to date and how we can overcome roadblocks from WCM in order to reach a fair contract in a timely manner. We will also discuss strategies to help ensure that WCM bargains more intensively for the rest of the summer.

We have also started to establish focus groups to provide support with the bargaining process. These groups will stay in regular contact with the bargaining committee in order to assist with research, give feedback on proposals, and drive issue-based campaigns that add to our leverage at the bargaining table. To join a focus group, fill out this form. You can also show your support by observing scheduled bargaining sessions on Zoom. Click here to RSVP for a bargaining session.

Finally, save the date for our potluck social on Saturday, July 6 on Roosevelt Island—stay tuned for more details coming soon! As always, let us know if you have any questions or would like to get more involved with the efforts.
