UAW Lawsuits
Immigration Ban for Targeted Countries: UAW recently won a major court ruling restoring visa processing for people from Iran and 38 other countries. In order to ensure that the Trump administration is complying with the judge’s decision, our Union’s lawyers need to hear from workers who were impacted by these policies. If you were affected by these policies and your visa or asylum processing is still on hold, please send an email to highered@uaw.net. All responses are confidential.
Gold Card: The Trump administration’s proposed “Gold Card” program threatens to disadvantage workers pursuing permanent residency through EB-1 and EB-2 pathways. If you are in the process or plan to apply for permanent residence via EB-1 or EB-2, please fill out this form. All responses are confidential.
NSF Grant Cancellations: Our union, UAW, has joined the national legal effort to reverse cuts to NSF and other science agencies. Due to higher ed workers’ collective efforts, some of these cancellations have been reversed, but major threats to NSF funding remain and we need more information to continue the legal fight. If you are currently supported by NSF funding or if you (or your PI) are considering applying for NSF funding in the future please fill out this form.
